With the first-team offense and defense getting plenty of snaps last week, the Detroit Lions, like most teams, will likely be giving most of their starters the week off this Thursday vs. the Bills. DeAndre Levy, Larry Warford and Caraun Reid are all dealing with injuries and will sit out tonight as well.
Warford and Reid both suffered high-ankle sprains against the Redskins and it's clear that coaches want to take precautions to get them ready for the regular season. Levy hasn't practiced in almost two weeks and it's still unclear what he's been dealing with.
With the starters likely getting their rest, fans will get to see plenty of snaps from the backups as they battle it out for the final 22 roster spots. The team will establish their 53-man roster by 4:00 p.m. ET on Saturday, Sept. 5.
Inactives:
- LB DeAndre Levy
- OG Larry Warford
- DT Caraun Reid
UPDATE:
Stafford, Tate, Slay, Quin, Mathis, Ihedigbo, Bell, Tulloch, Rameriz, Swanson, Waddle, Reiff are also not playing.
