Greg Salas carted off in Lions preseason finale

In an unfortunate break for the Detroit Lions receiver, Greg Salas was carted off the field early in the game against the Buffalo Bills.

Phil Sears-USA TODAY Sports

Tonight was a big night for Greg Salas to shine. Unfortunately, his night was cut short with a knee injury. After hauling in two catches for 21 yards, Salas went down with a knee injury and did not return. Later, he was carted off from the sideline:

Salas was a bit of a long-shot to make the finale, but he had impressed in the preseason. Overall, Salas totalled 10 catches for 138 yards and one touchdown over the preseason. However, because of the perceived seriousness of his injury, Salas' slim chances to make the 53 man roster are now, most likely, zero. It's a sad end to what had been an exciting and impressive preseason for the wideout.
