The Lions roster cuts down to a 53-man roster has finally begun. Their first move was to cut Casey Pierce, according to Dave Birkett.
Pierce joined the Lions this year as an undrafted free agent. Pierce's impressive four years at Kent State weren't enough to prepare him for the big leagues. Pierce was never really in the mix for the final roster, but if the Lions liked what they saw, they could stash him on the practice squad this year and see if he develops.
