2015 roster cuts: Lions cut Crezdon Butler

The journeyman cornerback has been released by the Lions. It was the second cut to the roster on Saturday.

Raj Mehta-USA TODAY Sports

Per a source to the NFL Network's Rand Getlin, the Detroit Lions have released cornerback Crezdon Butler. With the deadline to make 53 players a little over four hours away on Saturday, the Lions made their second cut, this time on the defense. You can track all the cuts today on our tracker.

Crezdon Butler has jumped teams seven times since entering the NFL in 2010. The journeyman will have to find his way onto a different roster, after failing to make any progress on the Lions' crowded cornerback depth chart. His release doesn't come as much of a surprise, as the Lions likely want to see what they have in sixth-round draft pick Quandre Diggs.

Stay tuned for more updates here as the Lions whittle their roster down.
