Per Dave Birkett of the Detroit Free Press, the Detroit Lions have released wide receiver Greg Salas. The wide receiver was hurt during Thursday's preseason game against the Buffalo Bills.
Greg Salas' release was expected after he went down in the first quarter of the final preseason game with a serious-looking knee injury. He led the preseason with 138 yards and one touchdown on 10 receptions. Salas was a long-shot to make the roster, but this was an unfortunate way to go out. It is unclear if the Lions will waive Salas with an injured designation, but it is still possible.
As always, keep in mind that these are real people losing their jobs. Stay tuned to our tracker all day Saturday for the latest updates as the Lions work their way to 53 players. With the Salas release, they currently stand at 70.
