As the news continues to roll in, according to Josh Katzenstein, running back George Winn has been released from the Detroit Lions.
George Winn entered the league in 2013 and bounced around between five teams before finding a home the following year in Detroit. He played in 12 games last season with 73 yards on 19 carries. Bell's absence during the summer opened the door for Winn to show his worth and he was an asset on special teams. However, this was not enough to save him from the cuts for the final roster. Unfortunately, he will probably have to go back to his parents' basement until he can make the roster with another team. Winn's release is extremely good news for Zach Zenner, who looks like he may have earned a roster spot now.
