Jeremy Ross is no longer a Detroit Lion. Per Jason LaCanfora, the organization decided Saturday that Ross will not make the final cut. He will need to find work elsewhere as the Lions close in on the magic number 53, the hard limit for the roster at 4 p.m. ET on Saturday.
Ross initially made a huge impression when the Lions picked him up in the middle of the 2013 season. Immediately, he was an impact player on special teams, averaging nearly 30 yards per kick return. However, the magic soon wore off and Ross followed a disappointing 2014 with an underwhelming preseason this year. Ross' release may be good news for TJ Jones, who was one of a few receivers on the bubble.
With only a few cuts remaining, stay tuned in to our roster tracker for the rest of Saturday's moves.
