Lions notes: Matthew Stafford speaks on Calvin Johnson retirement talks

Today's Lions notes tackle Ziggy Ansah's team honors, more Bob Quinn talk and Matthew Stafford on Calvin Johnson's retirement.

Andrew Weber-USA TODAY Sports

  • The Detroit Lions continued with their team awards by naming Ezekiel Ansah the squad's defensive MVP. His 14.5 sacks on the season were enough for him to earn the nod over Darius Slay, who had a dominant year at cornerback.

  • I joined Theo "Gridiron" Spight on the Forward Down the Field podcast to talk about Bob Quinn and my thoughts on Jim Caldwell's future. He also has Don Carey on as a guest, but if you just want to hear my segment, I jump in around the 33 minute mark:

  • Jeff Risdon wrote an interesting piece on the "Patriot Way" Bob Quinn will be bringing to the Detroit Lions organization.

  • It looks like Joe Lombardi will be landing back on his feet in New Orleans:
  • Matthew Stafford jumped on WJR radio with Mitch Albom and talked about Calvin Johnson and his retirement consideration:

  • Football is coming back to Los Angeles!
