  • Darius Slay looks like he's preparing to get a new contract: Slay is currently signed through the 2016 season, but he's set to become a free agent after that. Both parties are likely hoping to get a contract done before the start of next season.

  • The Pro Football Writers of America (PFWA) released their All-NFL, All-NFC and All-AFC teams. Only one Detroit Lions player made any of those lists: Ezekiel Ansah was named to the All-NFC team.

  • The Lions donated an undisclosed amount of money to help the water crisis in Flint.

  • Thomas Rawls, current Seahawks running back, calls Flint his home. He's looking to do whatever he can to help the city and his family that still lives there:
  • Daniel Jeremiah released his first mock draft and has the Lions selecting defensive tackle A'Shawn Robinson at 16 overall.

  • It's kind of nice not having this contract weigh down the Lions' salary cap: According to Spotrac, the Lions have approximately $20.7 million in cap space, while the Dolphins are $6.9 million in the hole.
