The hunt is on. After being spurned by Will McClay, good news came down from the insider sources of additional targets for the Detroit Lions in their hunt for the next general manager to lead the charge at Allen Park. Per ESPN's Adam Schefter, the Lions are looking to interview Trent Kirchner, the co-director of player personnel with the Seattle Seahawks.

Trent Kirchner has been with the Seattle Seahawks since 2010, beginning as an assistant director of player personnel and working his way up to director of pro personnel before his current title. While he has been with the organization, the Seahawks have turned into one of the true juggernauts of the league in the NFC, thanks to excellent scouting and building through the draft. Before his time with the Seahawks, he previously served in a scouting role for the Carolina Panthers and Washington.
Kirchner previously interviewed for the New York Jets general manager position last year.
If hired, Trent Kirchner would be a first time general manager, although he certainly has had enough experience under his belt to justify the role. This will most likely be the first of many interviews the Lions will hold in the coming days in hopes of landing the person most suited to run this ship. ESPN's Michael Rothstein has a full profile on Trent Kirchner that's worth reading.
