Teryl Austin to interview for Dolphins, Browns head coaching job

The Detroit Lions' defensive coordinator has already garnered a lot of attention around the NFL.

The Detroit Lions defensive coordinator Teryl Austin may be moving on from Detroit, and he may be moving quick. According to CBS Sports' Jason La Canfora, Austin already has interviews lined up for the head coaching vacancies in Miami and Cleveland:

Ian Rapoport is also reporting that Austin will likely interview with the Eagles later in the week.

Austin is just a second-year coordinator in the NFL, but he has been in the league since 2003. Last year, he garnered interest from at least three teams, possibly as high as five. The fact that he is drawing a lot of attention this year does not guarantee that he will leave the Lions. However, with a second year under his belt as defensive coordinator, he is more qualified of a candidate than he was last offseason.

According to Jason Cole, Austin's interviews with the Dolphins and Browns are scheduled for Tuesday and Wednesday respectively. Rapoport corroborates the Dolphins are interviewing Austin on Tuesday.
