Saturday open thread: Who should the Lions start at RB on Sunday?

With no Theo Riddick or Ameer Abdullah, who do you want in charge of the Lions running game?

NFL: Detroit Lions at Green Bay Packers Jeff Hanisch-USA TODAY Sports

Injuries for the Detroit Lions have moved from the defense to the offense and now the Lions may be without their top three running backs on Sunday against the Rams. Ameer Abdullah and Theo Riddick are already pronounced out for the game, while rookie Dwayne Washington missed all but Friday’s practice and is questionable with an ankle injury.

That leaves only Zach Zenner and newly acquired Justin Forsett as the two completely healthy players in the backfield for Detroit.

So today’s Question of the Day is:

Who do you want to see taking the bulk of the carries on Sunday?

My answer: For the sake of argument let’s just assume Washington is going to play, because PLEASE GOD, LET SOMEONE BE HEALTHY. If that’s the case, I still would like to see Forsett on the field more than anyone else. He may have just joined the team, but he brings the most experience and he probably has the closest skillset to Riddick among the three backs. The Lions will probably miss Riddick in the passing game more than anything, and while Forsett is nowhere near the mismatch that Theo is, he has been a valuable asset in the receiving game throughout his career.
