VIDEO: Lions end first half vs. Rams with a huge defensive stand

The Lions defense finally made a huge play to end the first half.

The Detroit Lions defense didn’t have much to be happy about in the first half of their game against the Los Angeles Rams. Case Keenum finished the half 15 of 17 for 179 yards and a touchdown. Todd Gurley had eight rushes for 43 yards and the Rams didn’t punt once.

But sometimes it’s more important how you finish, and the Lions finished the first half with a huge play. Facing a fourth-and-goal from inside the 1-yard line, the Lions defense stuffed Todd Gurley well before the goal line and even before the line of scrimmage.

Stefan Charles and Tyrunn Walker did a great job getting into the backfield almost before Gurley even had the ball in his hands. Even if they didn’t combine on the tackle, Tahir Whitehead was right behind them, ready to make the play.

The goal line stand kept the game tied as both teams broke for halftime. The Los Angeles Rams will have the ball to start the second half.
