Injury update: Darius Slay OUT for rest of game vs. Washington

The Lions will be without their No. 1 corner for the rest of the game.

The Detroit Lions held up their end of the bargain in the first half, holding Washington to just three points in the first half. However, they will have to do the same without one of their best players in the final two quarters. The team announced in the third quarter that Darius Slay has a hamstring injury and will not return.

Slay was injured on a play in the second quarter and limped off under his own power. He spent a few minutes on the sidelines before heading to the locker room, where he stayed after halftime.

In Slay’s place is Johnson Bademosi. Bademosi was an addition this offseason to bring help to the team’s special teams unit. Bademosi has been excellent as the team’s gunner on punts, however, he doesn’t have a ton of experience as a cornerback with the Lions. Already, Washington appears to be targeting Bademosi often to try and rattle the replacement.

We will update you on Slay’s condition as it comes in.
