‘Monday Night Football’ open thread: Texans at Broncos

NFL: Preseason-Denver Broncos at Houston Texans Troy Taormina-USA TODAY Sports

Week 7 closes with a game whose outcome doesn’t directly affect the Detroit Lions. The Houston Texans are in Denver to face the Broncos on “Monday Night Football.” The AFC matchup features a Broncos team stuck in the middle of a hotly contested AFC West division. While the Texans currently sit atop a much weaker AFC South.

Though the winner of the game has no true effect on the Lions—or any team in the NFC for that matter—it does give Detroit a close-up of their next opponent. The Lions will be facing the Texans in Houston this week and will obviously have the advantage of catching the Texans on a short week. You can be sure that nearly every Lions player will be watching closely Monday night to get some extra scouting on their next matchup.

Here’s the information you need for tonight’s game. Be sure to drop us your observations on the Texans in the comment section below.
