The Detroit Lions (4-3) face off against the Houston Texans (4-3) on Sunday. This will be the Lions’ third matchup against an AFC South team this year. The Lions dropped a game to the Tennessee Titans earlier in the year, but defeated the Indianapolis Colts to open the season. The Texans, too, are facing their third NFC North team. Houston took down the Bears but were outmanned by the Vikings.
While the Lions are riding a three-game winning streak, all of those victories came at home. Detroit’s record on the road is just 1-2. The Texans, on the other hand, have yet to drop a home game, going 4-0 at NRG Stadium.
Though the teams play in different conferences, this is a major game for both franchises. Heading into the second half of the season with a 5-3 record would be a major morale boost for both teams as opposed to falling to .500.
