The Detroit Lions are 1-3 and most fans and analysts are counting them out for the 2016 season. Whether the season is “over” or not (it’s not), the Lions still have 12 games to play. The team needs to show a lot of improvement in the next three months or a lot of players and coaches will be looking for a new job in 2017.
While plenty are calling for a coaching change to spark some motivation within the team, that isn’t likely to happen soon, nor is it likely to really change much. One option, however, is to make some personnel changes on the team. We started to see that a little on Sunday. Golden Tate made a huge mistake that cost his team points, so he barely saw the field in the second half..
Today’s Question of the Day is:
Which Lions player would you like to see get more playing time?
My answer: Let’s not include injured players on this list, because we all want to see DeAndre Levy and Ezekiel Ansah out there. Instead, I will go with A’Shawn Robinson. Defensive line play has been one of the biggest issues for this team through four weeks, and although Robinson has been played 33 percent of defensive snaps so far, I’d like to see that number go up. He has shown flashes of great play, including a big fourth down stop against the Chicago Bears. The duo of Haloti Ngata and Tyrunn Walker isn’t getting the job done. Time to try something else.
Your turn.
