Thursday Night Football open thread: Cardinals at 49ers

It’s October. Fall is already upon us and one-fourth of the NFL season is behind us. The season is moving breakneck pace and before you know it, we’ll be talking about the NFL Draft—some of you have already started.

To kick off Week 5 of the NFL season, the San Francisco 49ers will be hosting the Arizona Cardinals for “Thursday Night Football.” Both teams enter the game at 1-3, but with very different feelings about that record. The Niners weren’t expected to be much of a contender, as they still continue to try and rebuild what Jim Harbaugh had created a few years back. The Cardinals, on the other hand, are trying to right a ship that has unexpectedly capsized. Arizona made it to the NFC Championship game last year, but have already dropped as many games (three) as they lost during the entire 2015 regular season. If they want contend for the NFC crown again this year, time is running out for a turnaround.
