Lions-Vikings Thanksgiving Day expert picks

The Pride Of Detroit staff is riding high heading into Thanksgiving.

NFL: Detroit Lions at Minnesota Vikings Brace Hemmelgarn-USA TODAY Sports

In what is their biggest game of the 2016 season to date, the Detroit Lions will face off against the Minnesota Vikings for the lead in the NFC North with just five games remaining. The stakes of this game cannot be understated, as a Lions win would mean essentially a two-game lead in the division, while a loss would mean Detroit would have to make up at least one game in their difficult schedule down the stretch.

It seems likely that the winner of this game will be the NFC North champion in 2016, and if our staff’s predictions are accurate, the Lions may win their first division in 23 years. Only two of 11 staffers are picking the Vikings to upset the Lions on Thanksgiving. Here is a look at our picks:

Joseph Buszek (7-3): 20-19 Lions
Brian Packey (6-4): 24-18 Lions
Kyle Yost (6-4): 21-20 Lions
Alex Reno (6-4): 20-18 Lions
Ryan Mathews (6-4): 17-14 Lions
Andrew Kato (6-4): 23-16 Lions
Chris Lemieux (6-4): 31-22 Vikings
Mike Payton (5-5): Lions win
Justin Simon (5-5): 20-17 Lions
Jeremy Reisman (5-5): 26-21 Vikings
Kent Lee Platte (3-6): 19-14 Lions

Now it’s your turn to give us your predictions. Add your pick to the comment section below and if you’re closest to the final score, you’ll get a shout-out on our weekly On Paper column.

Good luck and Happy Thanksgiving, everyone!
