It’s generally a principle rule in sports that if there’s a spectacular play on television, it will sound even better heard on your team’s radio broadcast. Sure enough, we’ve got the top three plays for the Detroit Lions from today’s tilt against the Minnesota Vikings, and WJR/Lions Radio Network main man Dan Miller put together some spectacular, voice-cracking calls for Lions nation around the country.
First, Matthew Stafford’s pass to Anquan Boldin to give the Lions the first touchdown on the day and gave the Lions a 9-3 lead.
After that, Stafford put together a furious drive with less than 30 seconds remaining in the game. Two passes and a spike later, Matt Prater was set up for the game-tying field goal needed to send this one to overtime:
And finally, in overtime, Stafford found Golden Tate, who toe-tapped along the sideline, shed Vikings defenders and dove into the endzone:
