Saturday open thread: Do you actually think DeAndre Levy will play on Sunday?

Is this finally the week that the Lions get their star linebacker back?

It’s been a frustrating two years. I’ve been one of DeAndre Levy’s biggest supporters from the get go, and even I grew tired of the "will he, won’t he" of every week regarding his game status.

But it appears Levy will soon return to the lineup for the Detroit Lions, as several team beat reporters believe he is ready to go based on his increased participation in practice this week. In fact, a few believe Levy will return this week against the Chicago Bears.

So today’s Question of the Day is:

Do you believe DeAndre Levy will play against the Chicago Bears?

My answer: I do. I’ll admit it, I’ve been fooled with Levy before. I was certain he was going to return after the bye week, and I felt pretty confident he would be back by the Saints game at the latest. But the reporting on Levy feels different this week, and I think he’ll see the field in a limited fashion on Sunday.

At this point, it is just a matter of time before Levy is playing again, of that much I am certain. The real test begins when his body reacts to being back out there on the gridiron. Because if Levy suffers another setback after seeing some playing time, it may be curtains for his Lions career.

Your turn.
