While recent news has rightly been on Matthew Stafford’s finger and whether he will be able to throw unimpeded, the Wednesday injury report for the Detroit Lions looked to be off to a poor start as center Travis Swanson—who missed practice all last week and missed last Sunday’s game—was once again out from practice, still dealing with concussion protocol. Theo Riddick, who also missed this past Sunday’s game, was also out, as was edge rusher Ezekiel Ansah.
The absence of Swanson has forced the Lions to play Graham Glasgow at center and slot Laken Tomlinson in Glasgow’s original spot at left guard. The fact that it has taken Swanson this long and the fact that he hasn’t gotten through concussion protocol is certainly not a good sign for a team that needs a strong offensive line to protect an injured Stafford.
In addition, many key Lions have appeared on the report with injuries. While the Lions still keep DeAndre Levy limited to work on his knee injury, Eric Ebron and Darius Slay were also limited on Wednesday. In addition, Zach Zenner was limited while dealing with his own concussion. The full reports follow below.
