As the holiday weekend comes to bear, the Detroit Lions took to practice on Friday to prepare for the showdown with the Dallas Cowboys. Unfortunately, as with Thursday, they were missing three of their biggest contributors to the team.
Center Travis Swanson, cornerback Darius Slay and running back Theo Riddick all missed their second day of practice, and signs seem to indicate that all three might not be available on Monday. For Swanson and Riddick, it would be their third straight game absent, coming at a time where the Lions face the toughest stretch of their schedule.
Khyri Thornton did return to practice on Friday after being out with an illness, and Haloti Ngata and Rafael Bush were upgraded to full practice. For the Cowboys, the report remains the same, with the addition of Mark Sanchez out Friday for non-injury-related reasons. The full reports follow below.
