After the Cowboys defeated the Vikings on “Thursday Night Football” the Detroit Lions’ playoff chances inched closer to reality. According to FiveThirtyEight.com, the results pushed Detroit’s playoff odds from 71 percent to 76 percent.
While the best thing the Lions can do for themselves is win against the Saints on Sunday, they can also get some help if the Texans can beat up on the Packers. In fact, if the Texans and Lions win this week, Detroit’s magic number will be down to two with four games remaining.
So today’s Question of the Day is:
Who do you think wins on Sunday: The Packers or the Texans?
My answer: While I’d love to honestly believe the Texans will take down Green Bay in Green Bay, I just don’t see it happening. Houston has never been as good as their record suggests, and their two-game losing streak is likely just the tip of the iceberg for the team.
I don’t think the Packers necessarily have everything figured out, and their offense will struggle a bit against a decent Texans defense, but Houston has major offensive problems of their own—see: Brock Osweiler—and I don’t think they’ll catch up with Aaron Rodgers, whose demise was prematurely called.
Your turn.
