The Detroit Lions currently hold an impressive 5-2 record against the NFC, the second-best mark in the conference. That record is going to be put to the test on Sunday, as they face off against the desperate New Orleans Saints.
The Saints (5-6) are essentially in a position where they may need to win out to make the postseason. They find themselves behind both the Falcons (7-4) and Buccaneers (6-5) in the NFC South, while they’re also a game and a half outside of a Wild Card spot.
The Lions, while not nearly as desperate for a win, could do wonders for their playoff chances with a win on Sunday. After the Vikings loss on Thursday, Detroit would essentially hold a three-game lead over Minnesota with a win. If you combine that with a Packers loss on Sunday, the Lions would only need to win two games in their final four to clinch the NFC North.
With so much on the line for both teams, the game is likely going to have a playoff atmosphere. To get you ready for the game, here’s all of the pertinent information for Sunday:
