‘Thursday Night Football’ open thread: Raiders at Chiefs

Week 14 is here and it starts out with a bang. The Oakland Raiders (10-2) face off against the Kansas City Chiefs (9-3) n a battle for supremacy in the AFC West.

The Raiders have won six straight and are currently atop the division, however the Chiefs were one of two teams to hand the Raiders a loss this season. If Kansas City could pull off the sweep on Thursday night, they would jump to first in the division on account of having the tiebreaker over the Raiders. With just three games left, that would be huge for the Chiefs, who just put their 22-year playoff victory drought to bed last year.

The game doesn’t really have any implications for the Lions, unless you’re rooting for a Matthew Stafford MVP run. If that’s the case, one of the leading candidates right now is Raiders quarterback Derek Carr. If he struggles down the stretch, it would open up a chance for Stafford to overtake him before the regular season ends.

Regardless of whether you’ll be rooting for that or have a fantasy interest in the game, this NFL matchup is bound to be a high-intensity divisional game. Come watch it with us.
