  • Jared Allen announced his retirement from the NFL after 12 years. Allen, being the eccentric personality that he is, went out in style:
  • Allen made a living out of tormenting Detroit Lions quarterbacks, but perhaps his most infamous moment came against now backup quarterback Dan Orlovsky. Allen chased Orlovsky out of the endzone forcing the quarterback to take a bone-headed safety. Orlovsky had fun with the incident after Allen announced his retirement: The full caption of the Instagram post reads:

    "Hey
    @jaredallen69 thanks bro. Congrats on retirement, I'll NEVER forget ya #whydidyousplitthedoubleteam #calvinwasntopen #imanidiot #laugh "

  • Nothing is official yet, but it looks like James Ihedigbo will be the latest veteran Lions player to play elsewhere in 2016: Ihedigbo was set to become a free agent at the beginning of the league year.

  • The Detroit Lions did not have a top 30 selling jersey in the NFL last season. The highest Lions jersey was Calvin Johnson at No. 34. The next highest is Matthew Stafford at No. 65.

  • The New York Jets waived former Lions kicker Kyle Brindza after he tore his achilles recently.

  • Eric Ebron looks to be producing a line of t-shirts coming soon:
