Lions notes: Tomlinson had fifth-most snaps of first-round rookies

Today's notes covers more Calvin Johnson Hall of Fame talk, Laken Tomlinson's impressive rookie year and Reggie Bush spitting venom.

  • The Detroit Lions got a lot of production out of rookie Laken Tomlinson last season. In fact, he received the fifth-most snaps of all first-round rookies:
  • Current Hall of Famer Lynn Swann isn't sure Calvin Johnson deserves to be inducted into the Hall of Fame. While that's certainly a valid opinion to have, his reasoning seems to surround the Lions' lack of success during Johnson's career, which is completely unfair to Calvin and ignores the turnaround in Detroit of which he was an integral part. 

  • Mlive's Justin Rogers believes the Lions "aren't that far away" from creating a team like the Super Bowl-winning Denver Broncos

  • Reggie Bush is spitting fire toward former Lions general manager Martin Mayhew:
  • Former Patriots linebacker Willie McGinest gave a nice background as to what the Lions can expect from new strength and conditioning coach Harold Nash Jr.
