Former Detroit Lions linebacker and free agent Tahir Whitehead is drawing interest on the open market now that free agency has begun in earnest. He performed well for the Lions down the stretch despite limited playing time, and while many fans wish to see him return, he's already had interest expressed in his services from Philadelphia. Now Tampa Bay is in the mix for him too: it has been reported that Whitehead will meet with the Buccaneers on Thursday.
Per Dave Birkett of the Detroit Free Press:
Lions LB Tahir Whitehead is visiting the Bucs today

The Buccaneers recently did not tender a contract to RFA linebacker Danny Lansanah, which means the organization has a hole to fill at the position as it stands. Whitehead may be the solution to that gap at the present.
Earlier in the week, Whitehead drew interest from the Philadelphia Eagles, who had just traded away Kiko Alonso and had a need for linebacker themselves. Whitehead played college football in Philadelphia at Temple University.
As it stands, there has been no word as to whether the Lions are actively pursuing Whitehead or hope to have him return to Detroit.
