Although the Lions have certainly kept busy on the first two days of the 2016 free agency period, a glaring absence has been any word of talking with offensive linemen, of which the Lions have great need in order to shore up their floundering unit. That may soon change: the Lions are one of two teams now linked to prolific free agent offensive tackle Russell Okung, formerly of the Seattle Seahawks.
Per Ian Rapoport of the NFL Network:
While one #Seahawk returns, could one leave? I'm told LT Russell Okung has visits with the #Giants and the #Lions. Both have big OT needs.

Could the Lions land Okung? If they are indeed in the mix with serious financial interest, they look to have some favorable odds. The Seahawks just spent a bit of their change to sign Jermaine Kearse and the New York Giants just spent the farm singing defensive end Olivier Vernon on Wednesday. The Giants will get first crack at Okung on Friday when he visits New Jersey. The Lions will visit with Okung later in the day on Friday.
Six years ago, Russell Okung met with the Lions in a pre-draft visit.
