Though he hasn't signed anywhere yet, the interest in former Detroit Lions defensive end Jason Jones is real. According to Ian Rapoport, Jones is now visiting with the Dallas Cowboys.
Jones has previously visited with the Miami Dolphins and Pittsburgh Steelers this offseason, but those visits happened over two weeks ago. Since then, rumors surrounding Jones have gone cold.
The Cowboys have a pressing need for a pass rusher, as it looks like they will be moving on from the troublesome Greg Hardy.
The Lions, too, have a drastic need at defensive end, having only two players currently signed to the position. It's unclear if the Lions have any interest in Jones or whether they have given him an offer and are letting him shop around before making a decision. Either way, the Lions have been extremely quiet on the situation.
In the past two seasons, Jones has started 31 games for the Lions, tallying 53 tackles and 9.5 sacks. He turns 30 in May.
