Walker has only spent one year with the Lions and his season was cut short after breaking his leg on a borderline-illegal play. The league is actually looking into changing the rule to increase player safety.
Before the brutal injury, Walker showed a lot of promise. He finished the year with nine tackles and one tackle for loss in the four games he started.
Walker will be expected to start on the defensive line once he has fully recovered from injury. Walker recently posted a video to social media showing that he is progressing well in rehab.
Detroit is still looking to lock up their other starting defensive tackle position. The Lions are reportedly looking into re-signing Haloti Ngata to start alongside Walker.
