2016 NFL Mock Draft: Los Angeles Rams select Laquon Treadwell

The Los Angeles Rams select Laquon Treadwell with the 15th pick in the POD Community Mock Draft.

Justin Ford-USA TODAY Sports

With the 15th pick in the Pride Of Detroit Community Mock Draft, the Los Angeles Rams select wide receiver Laquon Treadwell. Jwitzsc is the acting manager for the Rams. Below is the rationale for the pick.

The LA Rams are in dire need of a legit quarterback.  The Rams only had 2,800 yards passing in 2015.  However, with the top two quarterbacks off the board, I feel like it's a reach to draft one at this position.  The next best option is to give Case Keenum another weapon to work with.  The Rams had no wide receiver have more than 52 catches or gain over 700 yards last season.  With that being said, I choose Laquon Treadwell.

Laquon is the highest rated wide receiver on the board.  It immediately gives the Rams a big-bodied option, which they lack on the roster.  Laquon is 6-foot-2 and weighs 220 lbs.  His big body allows him to box out small defensive backs, but also allows him to attack a 50-50 ball.  He will be a physical force for defensive backs to try and tackle.

Laquon does not have great speed.  Defensive backs can try and press him on the line of scrimmage.  If he works on getting off the line better and running better routes, then I envision him being an Anquan Boldin type of player.

The Detroit Lions are on the clock. Here's how the board looks:

1. Tennessee Titans: Laremy Tunsil, OT, Ole Miss
2. Cleveland Browns: Jalen Ramsey, CB/S, Florida State
3. San Diego Chargers, DeForest Buckner, DE, Oregon
4. Dallas Cowboys, Joey Bosa, DE, Ohio State
5. Jacksonville Jaguars, Myles Jack, LB, UCLA
6. Baltimore Ravens, Vernon Hargreaves, CB, Florida
7. San Francisco 49ers, Carson Wentz, QB, North Dakota State
8. Philadelphia Eagles: Ezekiel Elliot, RB, Ohio State
9. Tampa Bay Buccaneers: Ronnie Stanley, OT, Notre Dame
10. New York Giants: Leonard Floyd, LB, Georgia
11. Chicago Bears: Jared Goff, QB, Cal
12. New Orleans Saints: Sheldon Rankins, DT, Louisville
13. Miami Dolphins: Reggie Ragland, LB, Alabama
14. Oakland Raiders: Kevin Dodd, DE, Clemson
15. Los Angeles Rams: Laquon Treadwell, WR, Ole Miss
