NFL to announce schedule on Thursday at 8 p.m. ET

The 2016 schedule will be announced Thursday, April 14 at 8 p.m.

Kirby Lee-USA TODAY Sports

The NFL announced late Wednesday night the full 2016 schedule will be released Thursday, April 14 at 8 p.m. ET. The schedule will be released on NFL Network in a special breaking down each team's schedule.

For the Detroit Lions, there's a lot we already know. We already know all of their opponents and whether Detroit will be hosting them or visiting them. Below is that breakdown:

Home: Chicago Bears, Green Bay Packers, Minnesota Vikings, Philadelphia Eagles, Washington Redskins, Jacksonville Jaguars, Tennessee Titans, Los Angeles Rams

Away: Chicago Bears, Green Bay Packers, Minnesota Vikings, Dallas Cowboys, New York Giants, Houston Texans, Indianapolis Colts, New Orleans Saints

What we don't know yet is how many nationally televised games the Lions will have. Certainly the Lions will be on display for their annual Thanksgiving Day game, but it is unknown whether they'll have any additional Monday, Sunday or Thursday night games on the docket.

We'll have full coverage of the schedule Thursday night.
