With their second selection the the 2016 NFL Draft, the Detroit Lions have selected A'Shawn Robinson out of the University of Alabama.
A'Shawn was part of the 2016 national championship Alabama team and has dominated in the trenches for three seasons in Tuscaloosa. In 2015, Robinson was part of the Crimson Tide line that led the nation in rushing yards allowed per game and sacks, along with other standout DT Jarran Reed.
From Roll Bama Roll: "One of the more powerful linemen to come through Alabama in some time, his blows resonate and he has the ability to ragdoll elite caliber blockers when lined up one-on-one. Rarely beaten by less than a double-team, Robinson has tremendous length and is one of the most reliable tacklers from the Tide's 2015 championship roster. One simply does not hope to break an A'Shawn tackle...one can only hope to survive it intact."
Robinson weighs in at 307 lbs., standing 6-foot-7. He's always been billed at a very big, very mean football player who can punish the offensive line and stuff the run game.
Asked if he's ready to take on the rushing threats on the NFC North, A'Shawn Robinson replied simply:
No doubt. https://t.co/uHp1grz8cT
