Here's your 2016 Detroit Lions preseason schedule

The Lions will play against the Steelers, Bengals, Ravens and Bills.

Raj Mehta-USA TODAY Sports

On Thursday the Lions announced their preseason opponents for the four-game slate during August and early September. That particular array constitutes the shot in the arm to prepare fans for the actual football schedule starting in September; an exercise in working hype into a fever pitch. The Lions will play the Pittsburgh Steelers, the Cincinnati Bengals, the Baltimore Ravens and the Buffalo Bills.

The Bills are a return opponent in the preseason, as Detroit will now play Buffalo for the 36th time; the two franchises have met every preseason since 2002. The Lions will play the Bengals and Bills at Ford Field in Preseason Weeks 2 and 4, respectively. The road slate constitutes Weeks 1 and 3, where the Lions will travel to Pittsburgh and Baltimore.

No Lions preseason games are expected to make a national broadcast. Check here for the full NFL preseason schedule.

The full Lions schedule is as follows:

Preseason Week 1 (Aug. 11-15): at Pittsburgh

Preseason Week 2 (Aug. 18-22): vs. Cincinnati

Preseason Week 3 (Aug. 25-28): at Baltimore

Preseason Week 4 (Sep. 1): vs. Buffalo
