Although it seemed a bygone conclusion at this point that former Lions defensive end Jason Jones was seeking a new team in free agency and would not re-sign with Detroit, the actual landing spot remained something of an unknown. On Friday, the issue seems to be well on its way to finally being resolved, as reports surfaced that Jones would sign with the Miami Dolphins.

With Jones now officially signing with another team, the Lions will need to figure out the starting defensive end opposite Ezekiel Ansah. Devin Taylor is the assumed holder of the starter role at the position at present. Taylor played in 14 games in 2015 and started in two.
Jason Jones joins former Lion defensive tackle Ndamukong Suh in Miami.
