2016 Lions offseason schedule: What's next?

A list of the upcoming events for the Lions prior to the start of training camp.

Kirby Lee-USA TODAY Sports

With free agency slowing down and the completion of the 2016 NFL Draft, it feels like the offseason is hitting one of its dead periods. There likely won't be any big news in the near future unless the Detroit Lions decide to lock up Darius Slay or Ezekiel Ansah to a long term deal and I don't have the slightest clue when we're going to hear any news on Stephen Tulloch. Most of the transactions that you'll see will be the Lions shuffling the bottom end of their roster.

But there are still some important dates to keep in the back of your mind before we reach training camp. Of course, I'm referring to organized team activities (OTAs) and mandatory minicamps.

OTAs will be separated into three sets.

May 24-26

May 31-June 2

June 6-9

Mandatory Minicamp

June 14-16

There is no official starting date for training camp yet, but it's set to start at some point in mid-July, where rookies will arrive a about a week earlier than the veterans. This gives everyone close to a month of rest between mandatory minicamps and training camp and we can finally close the book on this year's offseason.
