The Detroit Lions announced on Friday they have signed nine of their ten picks from the 2016 NFL Draft class. The one player missing? Alabama defensive tackle A'Shawn Robinson.
No word yet if there's a holdup in negotiations or if there is something else delaying the Robinson signing, but at this point there is no real reason for concern. Although the second-round pick will likely miss the beginning of rookie minicamp -- which begins on Friday -- there's no reason to believe Robinson will hold out. The new collective bargaining agreement has made rookie contracts a formality at this point, so expect the deal to get done shortly. That being said, it is a bit interesting the Lions decided to announce nine signings rather than waiting to get the tenth signed and make a full draft class press release.
In addition to the draft picks, the Lions also confirmed on Friday the 12 undrafted free agents that were signed by the team this week:
CB Adairius Barnes (Louisiana Tech)
WR Jace Billingsley (Eastern Oregon)
WR Quinshad Davis (North Carolina)
DE James DeLoach (Georgia)
G Chase Farris (Ohio State)
TE Adam Fuehne (Southern Illinois)
DE Deonte Gibson (Northwestern)
WR Jay Lee (Baylor)
DB Charles Washington (Fresno State)
CB Ian Wells (Ohio)
TE Cole Wick (Incarnate Word)
G Andrew Zeller (Maryland)
