Lions head coach Jim Caldwell met with the media on Thursday to discuss everything going on with OTAs, but an important piece of information regarding one of the Lions' wide receivers also came out. Corey Fuller, one of the wide receivers currently fighting for a position on the depth chart, underwent foot surgery on Wednesday. The expected return for Fuller to the field is not yet known.
Lions WR Corey Fuller had foot surgery yesterday, per coach Jim Caldwell. Unclear how long he'll be out.

The surgery sheds light on another recent Lions transaction. On Tuesday the Lions waived one of their guards in order to sign wide receiver Damian Copeland, who now takes Fuller's place for the time being. His signing may indicate that the extent of Fuller's recovery may push close to the season itself, and Fuller may very well not be ready in time for Week 1.
Corey Fuller, before this injury, was expected to compete for the No. 4 or 5 wide receiver spot, although he has also seen time on the field in the previous season. He entered the offseason as an exclusive rights free agent and signed his tendered contract back in March.
