Well, there ends the less-than-24-hour saga of Arian Foster rumors to Detroit. Less than a day after rumors emerged that the Pro Bowl running back was planning a visit with the Detroit Lions and Miami Dolphins, Foster has reportedly agreed to terms with the Dolphins:

The original reports had Foster meeting with the Lions after he had talked with the Dolphins, but it appears Foster didn’t leave Miami without a contract. The 29-year-old back will take his talents to South Beach to join former Lions Ndamukong Suh, Jason Jones and Isa Abdul-Quddus. In Miami, Foster will compete with Jay Ajayi for the bulk of carries.
For Detroit, that means the Lions will likely have to go forward with their current set of backs in Ameer Abdullah, Stevan Ridley, Theo Riddick and Zach Zenner among others. But with Ridley suffering from a mysterious injury, it appears the Lions are still looking for an improvement at the position. With Foster now off the table, the Lions may have to resort to a trade if they still plan on upgrading at the running back position. Unless...
