- Details of Detroit Lions cornerback Darius Slay's contract have been leaked thanks to Detroit Free Press writer Dave Birkett. His yearly cap hit is as follows: 2016: $4.6 million; 2017: $10.7 million; 2018: $5.6 million; 2019: $15.4 million; 2020: $13.4 million.
- Bleacher Report's Ryan McCrystal put out preseason power rankings and has the Lions coming in at 31st. He projects the team to finish 3-13, then speculates the Lions considering a top-tier quarterback in the 2017 NFL Draft. Um... okay.
