The Detroit Lions had their first home game of the season on Thursday and Ford Field featured a brand new gameday experience for fans. While the cheerleaders weren’t in attendance yet, there were plenty of other new attractions to grab the attention of fans. The field sported new, blue end zones. The stadium featured a $2 million renovation of the lighting system. But perhaps most importantly of all, Ford Field began offering a slew of new concession items for the 2016 season.
The team unveiled the varied menu options earlier in the week, including italian ice, Shock Top brats, a burger with the Lions logo branded into the bun and homemade soft pretzels. But the most-anticipated — and certainly the most-advertised — new option is their four-pound, $15 Big Blue Donut. Here’s how Eater.com describes the monstrosity:
An enormous four-pound, nine-inch, bright blue cake donut covered in sprinkles and piped full of apple filling.
But why explain to you in words, when I can show you the glorious pastry it all of its beauty?

Today’s Question of the Day:
At its given price of $15, would you try this donut at least once?
My answer: I will try just about everything once, and I have a not-so-secret obsession with donuts. That being said, I am confident that when I do eventually try it — and I will fly back to Michigan to make sure I do — I will be sick of it three bites in.
Your turn.
