Friday open thread: What place will the Lions finish in the NFC North standings?

With the regular season just over two weeks away, where do you think the Lions will finish in the NFC North?

Matt Marton-USA TODAY Sports

Football is approaching fast. While the NCAA will kick things off tonight with Hawaii and Cal, the NFL isn't trailing too far behind. Two weeks from today, we will have just experienced the first NFL game of the season between the Panthers and Broncos.

With the regular season right around the corner, it's time to start making some predictions. Throughout the next two weeks we'll be providing you with some of our predictions for the 2016 Detroit Lions season, but why don't we start with you, the reader.

Today's Question of the Day is:

What place will the Detroit Lions finish in the NFC North?

My answer: Third. I think this is going to be a very competitive division this year. The NFC North had both the Packers and Vikings reach the postseason last year, and you could argue that each team got even better this offseason. The Lions, to me, are the hardest team to nail down. They had one huge setback in the offseason, but managed to mitigate the damage miraculously. But considering how different the team looked from 2014 to 2015, I just don't know what to expect from the team right now. The Bears look like they're still in rebuild mode, so I'll keep them in the basement for another year.

Your turn.
