Lions-Ravens snap counts: DeAndre Levy sees good chunk of snaps, Don Muhlbach doesn't play

Here's a look at the snap distribution for the Detroit Lions in their game against Ravens.

Tommy Gilligan-USA TODAY Sports

What you can find below is a look at the snap counts from the Detroit Lions third preseason game against the Baltimore Ravens. Keep in mind that not all snap counts are necessarily 100 percent accurate, but they are mostly reliable.

Chase Farris 10 15% 1 3%
Gabe Ikard 9 14% 4 13%

Observations

  • With the first-team offense getting over half of the snaps on Saturday, that left a lot of bubble players clawing for playing time. At wide receiver, just about everyone outside of the established top three split carries evenly. Well, except for Jeremy Kerley, who sat out the entire game on offense and was traded the next day

  • At running back, Dwayne Washington saw the most carries, but didn't see any action on offense until the second half. Still, his 13 special teams snaps were second-most among all offensive players. That's going to matter come roster cuts time.

  • Along the offensive line, the most interesting note is Gabe Ikard seeing just nine offensive snaps. Lemuel Jeanpierre, who was added to the roster just two weeks ago, saw double the snaps at center. The Lions are likely just getting a closer look at Jeanpierre, but we'll see as the roster cuts near.

Observations

  • Gabe Wright's snap count total is the first thing that jumps out at me. This is a guy desperately clinging to a roster spot, and the fact that he barely saw the field on Saturday is a very bad sign.

  • Interestingly, Don Carey did not see any defensive snaps at all. Carey is a known commodity for the Lions, so this isn't all that surprising, but it has to leave Carey a bit uneasy as he's also fighting for a roster spot.

  • At linebacker, DeAndre Levy got a good chunk of snaps on Saturday, but it was Zaviar Gooden, not Antwione Williams, who saw the majority of snaps after the first team duo was out.

LONG SNAPPER SPECIAL TEAMS SNAPS PERCENTAGE

Observations

  • Don Muhlbach not seeing any snaps on Saturday would have been a big reason to worry had Jimmy Landes not struggled with his snap accuracy against the Ravens. I'm very interested to see what the snap distribution will look like in the fourth preseason game if the Lions even have two long snappers by then.
