- Ravens veteran tight end Benjamin Watson suffered a torn Achilles on the very first offensive play in Saturday’s exhibition game against the Lions. After the game, several Lions players reached out to Watson:
Sad to see this happen to such a good man. Praying for your recovery! Everything is working for your good. https://t.co/zFKBALxPbY

- Pro Football Focus had high marks for everyone on the Lions starting offensive line on Saturday, except Travis Swanson, who we believe actually had an excellent game.
- Guard Jack Mewhort is the latest Indianapolis Colts player to suffer a significant injury. The Lions’ first week opponent has been decimated by injuries this offseason. The Indy Star has a full list of injuries.
- Newly acquired offensive lineman Brandon Thomas, said his goodbyes to the 49ers and looks ready to join Detroit:
Thanks 49ers for the opportunity these last two years. Looking forward to playing the game I love for the Detroit Lions #blessed #Lions

- I have no idea what Taylor Decker really means by this, but I know I like it:
Joe Dahl is a glazed donut at brunch. Sometimes big guys sweat when they eat yanno.

- The Lions’ preseason hasn’t gone exactly as planned, but nearly half of their 2016 opponents are going through similar problems.
- If press conferences are your thing, here are the post-game pressers after the Ravens game from Jim Caldwell and Matthew Stafford. And here are some regular old post-game interviews: Nevin Lawson, Taylor Decker, Marvin Jones, DeAndre Levy, Ameer Abdullah.
