Football is back! Football was supposed to be back. The Green Bay Packers were supposed to kick off the 2016 NFL preseason against the Indianapolis Colts, but the NFL bungled the upkeep of the stadium and the game was cancelled due to unsafe playing conditions:

The disappointing decision came after player safety concerns arose. NFL Media's Steve Wyche reports that the midfield logo was the main area of concern. It recently was painted and it was slick and hard, according to several team officials.
This is an embarrassing way to not kick off the season. While the game may not mean much in the grand scope of things, Sunday night was billed as the beginning of football for weeks. Finally, a return to Football Sundays on a national stage. Now, the season will begin with a whimper on a random slew of Thursday night games.
But, hey, you could always watch the olympics. Also, The Night Of is pretty good.
