Thursday open thread: Who is the best team in the AFC?

After Week 1, who do you think is the AFC’s best team?

NFL: New England Patriots at Arizona Cardinals Mark J. Rebilas-USA TODAY Sports

Wednesday, we discussed the disappointing Week 1 performances from the NFC’s top teams. Now, let’s turn our attention to the AFC, where things are quite different.

The teams that have reigned supreme atop the AFC lately—the Patriots, Steelers, Broncos and Ravens—all made big statements in the opening week of the NFL. The Patriots, without their star quarterback and tight end, took down the Cardinals. The Steelers showed their clear superiority over Washington. The Broncos upset the Panthers on opening night and the Ravens held on over the Bills.

So Today’s Question of the Day is:

Who is the best team in the AFC?

My answer: Until the New England Patriots give me a reason to pick against them, I will not. The Patriots are so well coached, sometimes it doesn’t seem like it matters which players are wearing their jersey. This is a perpetual, well-oiled machine and suspensions be damned, this team is going to win their division for the eighth year in a row.

Your turn.
