Ellen Degeneres has become well known for her philanthropic endeavors. She’s constantly making fans’ dreams come true, helping less fortunate families in distress and being just an overall nice person.

Back in February, Ellen announced that she, along with help from Justin Bieber and Lowe’s, agreed to provide Spain Elementary-Middle School with upgraded renovations in the light of news that the school had several violations, including rodent infestation and water damage.

Friday morning, Ellen checked back in with the school to see how the renovations had turned out.

The story is truly amazing, because this wasn’t just about a cosmetic change for an otherwise failing school. This made a huge difference. As Frederick Cannon, principal of the school, told Ellen, “What you and Lowe’s have done is bigger than the gym. This school, there was chance that Spain was going to close, but after now, that’s not going to happen.”

And Ellen wasn’t done with the surprises. At the end of the video segment above, Matthew Stafford and Golden Tate showed up to the gym to surprise teachers and students alike.

The kids were obviously going crazy and the two Lions players made sure they made contributions of their own, giving tickets to Sunday’s game against the Titans to everyone at the school.

The guys even gave Ellen an honorary jersey and Golden Tate took the opportunity to bring out his charm. “That’s going to bring out your eyes even more, great color on you,” Tate said to a chorus of awwwwwwwws from the ‘Ellen’ crowd.

These guys are awesome.
