The Detroit Lions, already shorthanded with DeAndre Levy inactive, may have lost their best defensive player for the day. Just two plays into the game, Ezekiel Ansah limped off the field with an apparent ankle injury.
Ansah spent some time on the sidelines getting his ankle taped, but he didn’t re-enter the game at any point. After a few more tests run on the sidelines, Ansah headed to the locker room.
The Detroit Lions officially list Ansah as questionable to return.
Without Ansah on the field, expect to see more of players like Kerry Hyder and Wallace Gilberry. Devin Taylor already picked up a sack on the day with an assist from Hyder, as Detroit held the Titans to a 51-yard field goal attempt. Ryan Succop missed the attempt.
Devin Taylor later stepped up and picked up a huge safety on the Titans’ next drive.
Stay with us for updates on Ansah’s injury.
UPDATE: The Lions have declared Ansah out for the rest of the game, as well as linebacker Antwione Williams, who also went down early in the game.
